Butch began his racing career back in 1991, when he began racing enduros as a senior in high school.  After a bad crash destroyed his car and sent him to the hospital, Butch decided to hang up his helmet for a few years.  He and Uncle Bill started building a new car for the Pure Stock Division at Lernerville in 1993, but the car wasn't ready to go until the beginning of the 1994 season.  He raced weekly at Lernerville Speedway & Challenger Raceway.  Through the winter of 1996 and into 1997, they built another new car and he started to become a regular Top 10 finisher at both tracks.  For the 2000 season, with the help of Kennedy Family Racing, Butch debuted another new car.  On April 15, 2000 at Challenger Raceway's opening event, he won his first career feature event.  He went on to win six more features that year.  Butch and Robyn were married at the end of the 2000 season.  In 2001 Butch visited victory lane eight times and won the Stewart Bus Lines Super Points Championship at Challenger Raceway.  He finished 3rd in points at Lernerville Speedway.  Also in 2001, Butch began driving the Wexford Racing E-mod, owned by Chuck Neely, on a full-time basis.  2002 was a fantastic year for Butch as he competed in his pure stock at Lernerville Speedway and piloted the #27 Wexford Racing E-mod at Tri-City Speedway and various other tracks.  He picked up two feature wins in the stock and went on to be the 2002 Lernerville Speedway Dingbats Restaurants Pure Stock Champion.  In 2003, the team struggled throughout most of the season.  Motor problems plagued Butch, forcing him to miss 2 events and even borrow a motor from Don Gamble twice.  Meanwhile, he still managed to finish in the Top 10 in 16 out of 21 events and 7th in the overall points standings at Lernerville.  Rain was the big story of 2003 as well, with 7 events being cancelled.  The 2004 season was better, but not spectacular.  Butch picked up only 1 feature win, but finished 4th in the Lernerville point standings.  We decided to have Chris Schneider of SS Chassis build us a new car for 2005.  Although he struggled at the beginning of the season, the new SS Chassis lived up to expectations by mid-season.  He won his first race of the season on May 6th, then went on to pick up 5 more wins, including back to back features.  The wins helped him steadily move up in the points standings and by the final points night, he was only 1 point out of first.  He captured the heat and feature win that night and with that, won his second points championship by a mere 2 points over Greg Beach.  No major changes were expected for the 2006 season, other than the anticipated arrival of Butch and Robyn's daughter, Madison, who was born on March 5th, 2006.  Butch had a spectacular 2006 season, winning 11 of 15 heat races at Lernerville Speedway and 4 feature event wins.  His worst finish of the season at Lernerville was a 5th place, and with that, he dominated the points standings and the hardcharger standings to become the 2006 Advance Auto Parts Points Champion and the Stover's Net Connection Hard Charger of the Year.  He also captured the Summer Sizzler win at Challenger Raceway.  In October of 2006 he ventured to Winchester Motor Speedway in Winchester, VA where he set 3rd fastest time, won his heat event, finished 2nd in the dash and 4th in the feature.  Butch plans for 2007 to be his last year in the stock division so we expect to run as many different tracks as we can.
