6/1/07 - Lernerville Speedway

Butch did not have a very good birthday....after winning the heat, he was involved in hard crash in the feature on only the second lap.  He started 9th and was already moving up when there was a big crash on the front stretch.  The wreck tore out the entire rear-end of the car, breaking everything from the tranny back.  To make matters worse, I hit a deer with Butch's truck on the way home!  Saturday morning they found that the emod had melted a piston, so we were happy to see Tri-City rained out.  Butch and the guys have been working very hard to get everything back together, so we should be able to make it to Lernerville on Friday and the motor for the emod has been fixed and is ready to go back in.  Hopefully this week will be better.

3/30/07 - Lernerville Speedway

Opening night at Lernerville started with Butch taking the green in 3rd place in the first of three heats.  There were 27 cars signed into the pits for the stocks.  At the start he jumped into 2nd and started to challenge the #2W of Terry Wheeler for the lead.  They battled door handle to door handle for the opening laps and eventually Butch got the advantage running the inside groove and took over the lead.  He stretched out his lead and garnered his first checkered flag of the season in his very first event.  The luck (or lack of) the draw put him in the 11th place starting position for the feature event.  The track was hard, slick and dusty.  The race took forever to get started, with multiple restarts but once they got going, Butch was on the move.  By the time the checkered flew, he finished a solid 3rd place.  All in all, it was a good night.  The car is still in one piece (barring a few rub marks) and although it was cold by the end of the night, we all had a good time.

4/6/07 - Lernerville Speedway - Rained Out

What can I say...it snowed!  Lernerville made the smart move of announcing the cancellation on Thursday.  Next week...Friday the 13th!
